Victory for General Science
By: Katrina Mana-ay III-31
Last July 19, 2012 was another momentous hours and one of a kind experience for General Science majors, how come it wouldn’t be anyway, if, we became victorious again. Another from our major ship won the Annual Mr. and Ms. College of Science pageant. Once more, it is a proof that we didn’t only have the brain and the looks but also an undeniable charisma. That’s why for two successive years General Science dominates the event and beat other major ships.
Joining the Mr. and Ms. COS doesn’t mean that only the candidates involvement were asked but it also mean that the presence of the whole General Science majors were essential as well. It is a battle of COS students: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Economics, Information and Technology, and General Science, an event which everyone awaits. When you say COS students it also means competent people, losing is not in our vocabulary, that’s why we make sure that we are not just doing fine, but doing the best. For us to win this thing we devoted our time, effort, money patience and hard work. From the creative costumes of our representatives, that took our patience to the edge, up to the casual wear and formal attire, we didn’t lose the grip on doing great. What matters the most is our dearly loved candidates. We ensure that they were equipped enough for the said pageant, intellectually, physically and emotionally. We chose Geraldine Magnaye and Mark Isabelo both from II-16 BSE General Science to represent our well love major: General Science. Undeniably both of them give it all to the pageant, they have done everything smoothly. They do not exaggerate and overrate things; just naturally they did what they need to do. The judges seems to appreciate what they did, making Geraldine Magnaye as 2nd runner up for Ms. COS and Mark as the new Mr.COS 2012, after Michael Espelarga of III-31 which happens to be also a General Science Major.
Time, effort, money and such of General Science people were whole-heartedly offered for this event, not to mention their non-stop cheering for the candidates all throughout the pageant. Costly banners, placards and endless applause and consistently yell for our candidates show how much we supported them. Nevertheless, everything, definitely the whole thing is all worthwhile. Not only because subsequently General Science won the contest, but also once gain it shows clearly to everyone, our professors, COS students and to other majors, that united General Science majors were undefeated.
